Kihansia lovettii Cheek

Described by Cheek (2003), separating it from the closely related genus Kupea by a cup-shaped periant tube (the cavitiy may also be a part of the receptacle) partly enclosing the anthers. Moreover, the inflorescence only bear fertile flowers at its lower part, the upper part is sterile. This species is only known from the type locality in Tanzania.
