Pterospora andromedea Nuttall
Firstly described by Nuttall (1818, pp 269-270), accepted by Wallace (1975). Pterospora andromedea is one of the more frequent mycoheterotrophic Ericaceae in North America, distributed in western Canada, USA and Mexico as well as around the big lakes in eastern USA and Canada. The type specimen of Nuttall could not be traced back, a neotype is designated by Wallace (1975).
