Thismia brunonis Griffith
The species was collected 1834 in southern Myanmar and firstly introduced in a talk held on the 18th of June 1844, summarized in the Proceedings of the Linnean Society of London (Griffith 1844). A subsequent publication provided more descriptive information (Griffith 1845), but called the species T. brunoniana in the description and T. brunonis in the figure legend. Volume 1 of the Proceedings of the Linnean Society comprising the time span between November 1838 and June 1848 was printed in 1848. IPNI schedules the publication of T. brunonis for 1844, POWO for 1845. The species is accepted by Jonker 1938, but is not listed in the Flora of Thailand (Larsen 1987). According to Jonker (1938) the species was only collected once and the type specimen (Griffith s.n.) is at an unknown location. It is also the type specimen for the genus!
