Thismia gardneriana Hooker ex Thwaites
J. G. Champion, who died in 1854, wrote a manuscript and provided drawings on a new species collected from Galle/Ceylon (today Sri Lanca) he called Tribrachys gardneriana. J. D. Hooker took these information along with the specimen stored at Kew Herbarium to describe Thismia gardneriana in Thwaites (1864) with only few lines and hardly more in Hooker (1888). More information on the species is given in Trimen and Hooker (1898) on page 132. A drawing by Miers (1847) of a flower of what he thought is Thismia brunonis from the herbarium collection of W. J. Hooker is also considered to be Thismia gardneriana (Thwaites 1864, Hooker 1888, Trimen and Hooker 1898).
